The New Frontier
Work in the scenic industry is a path I’ve only just started on. That said, I’ve learned a great deal so far. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved in every aspect of prop and set development, from CAD design based on specification, to scenic carpentry and painting. Additionally, I’ve now been a part of several installs and takedowns.
DESIGN
In designing the above CAD images, Designers are often not given a lot of time to get mockups out to clients. One has to work quickly and efficiently with an understanding that fabrication is NOT the same thing as conventional construction. These preceding images were all designed in SketchUp.
CONCEPT
It’s absolutely amazing being in the shop and not only seeing the work you created come to life, but also being able to do hands-on work on your design.
INSTALLATION
