Early Foundations

At the heart of my legacy work was most definitely anime/manga. The main objective of the work was beautiful background art with characters drawn in a cel-art like style.

The Dream Compass (Platforming Video Game)

Here’s some promotional work from the video game my team developed named The Dream Compass (ca. 2017 )

DESIGN

In creating these illustrations, as well as the art for the game, I was heavily influenced by the Studio Ghibli style of animation.

DEVELOPMENT

First, I got some reference images, did my initial sketches, and did some clean line work. After that, I drew from my game experience to create a vibrant color palette.

Contracted Covers

I’ve been credited for illustrating several books for Amazon’s Createspace publishing. During my time contracting there, I was responsible for creating more realistic looking covers for books. The above are a couple of examples: Treachery at Torrey Pines (2012) and Bindings of Corruption (2014)

Full Illustrations For Books

As an illustrator, I also created full color illustrations for books. The process included a sketch, ink, and color round including revisions. The following, Never Borrow Your Mother’s Pantyhose (2013).

  • Backgrounds Create Worlds, Surroundings Help with Development

Gaming was ingrained in me since my father walked in the door one day with the NES and Gyromite. I’ve always loved playing games. So, as an adult, I enjoy making them. Here are some screens from Super Mean Monkeys (2021), and Line Crush (unreleased). Both games were designed and animated by me.
